Transgression versus Foible

Do desperate times call for desperate measures? It would seem so.

Yet each of these supposed buffer-cum-remedies invariably boomerangs.

Whilst sin is nasty, let’s remember how insidious it is - and much closer to home than we'd like to admit.

So inanely distrusting others when we ourselves are obviously sleepwalking can be just as unhealthy!

Best to stay frosty, yet humble - because it works both ways.

Better still, love deeply and unconditionally, looking out for the good in everyone.

It's guaranteed to hurt, yet always works.

And in the working, brings peace.

For us, as well as everyone else.

📖
“I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬ (YouVersion)

📖 ““Refuse to be a critic full of bias toward others, and judgment will not be passed on you. For you’ll be judged by the same standard that you’ve used to judge others. The measurement you use on them will be used on you. Why would you focus on the flaw in someone else’s life and yet fail to notice the glaring flaws of your own? How could you say to your friend, ‘Let me show you where you’re wrong,’ when you’re guilty of even more? You’re being hypercritical and a hypocrite! First acknowledge your own ‘blind spots’ and deal with them, and then you’ll be capable of dealing with the ‘blind spot’ of your friend.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:1-5‬ ‭TPT‬‬ (YouVersion)

📖 Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].

1 Peter 4:8 AMPC (YouVersion)
